Some More Photos from the Capitol

These photos are all attempts at practicing "one shot" techniques. In all of the above photos, the composition was thought out, camera adjusted and prepared to try and attain the best possible result from the beautiful architecture within the Capitol Visitors Center.

Some Portrait Practice

These photos were an attempt to follow my usual style with the object in critical focus being the only portion of the photo in complete focus. For these photos I really tried to capture the subject in portrait like shots.

The Capitol

These are just a few of many photos taken of the BEAUTIFUL architecture at and surrounding the Capitol. When taking these photos, I tried to focus on getting the composition just right, so only one photo would have to be taken (AKA one shot =])

Green Leaves

These are some older nature photos that I took just before the leaves began to change. The lighting in each really adds to the photo, while still keeping it simple.

White Balance

These photos are all examples of shots that could have turned out really cool, but the white balance the camera was set at tended to make the photos a little grainy and colorless in some shots.

Fall Colors

All of these photos are dramatically impacted by the lighting. If the pictures were taken around noon, for example, the overall effect of the photo would be completely different.

Out in the Field

This photo was taken with the light in front of the subject, creating light spots on the back and creating shadows along the front.

In this instance, the light was behind the camera, illuminating hte front of all of the plants.
